Day 15
Today was our final day. It was
really hard knowing that the three weeks was over and that our High School career
was finally concluding. Similarly, our time at Firestone has been incredible,
and we have learned so much, that it feels like we are leaving too soon. We
were able to sit in one last meeting today with the private events team to work
on their numbers in the eleventh period. They are looking for more weddings in
these next couple of weeks, with the addition of a few outings. If these pan
out, Mr. Carter thinks they will hit their numbers. The private events team has
been working incredibly recently since Brian, a member of the Private Events
team, has recently taken a position at a new course. Mr. Carter told us that
when this happens, he has to work extra hard with that specific section in
order to even out the workload. He said they are about a month away from hiring
a new employee, so until then he will assist with Private Events. When we
finished our meeting, we followed Mr. Carter through his daily check ins, to
ensure the club was running smoothly. Luckily, for us, he said that everything
was running perfectly, so we were able to get lunch. Scott and I had a great
time learning first hand from someone as great as Mr. Carter. He taught us more
than we could have imagined, from a large spectrum of topics. I would recommend
our project to any upcoming senior who is looking for a field in business,
golf, sports management, management, etc. Mr. Carter made these three weeks
incredible and we cannot thank him enough.
